Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
