Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and securing victories.”
