LA Erupts in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Second World Series Victory
Los Angeles experienced citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.
The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Festivities began prior to the procession, with supporters lighting fireworks in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the victory.

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a cooler welcome at the rally. Recordings from the event appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
