The families of teenagers lost after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an painful period of uncertainty for confirmed information and requesting any details about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Confirmed footage depict the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the tragedy, which killed four dozen individuals and injured another 119. Authorities said on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the other six.
