Barça to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
